Perfect for classroom learning

This textbook is very well written and easy to understand. Each clinical case is broken up into sections so it's easy to assign reading material. Since there is so much information to go through, it can make searching for what you need a bit taxing (say for writing an essay). It's also very heavy, which does not make for easy-carrying. I would definitely recommend buying the digital version because then you can search for information and it's available to you always. Plus, you don't have to lug around a 6 lb. book.

Anybody with clinical ethics responsiblities, needs this text.

Whether you're on the IRB or responsible for ethics at your institution, you need this text. Emanuel's text has excellent experts and short, easy-to-read chapters. I would recommend using this for anyone preparing to serve on a hospital IRB or ethics committee. Many of the chapters have applicability beyond research ethics.
